About The Position

Turner Industries Group is seeking a Lab Technician for maintenance work in Pass Christian, Mississippi. The position conducts chemical and physical laboratory tests to assist scientists with qualitative and quantitative analyses of solid, liquid, and gaseous materials. Work supports research and development of new products or processes, quality control, maintenance of environmental standards, and other chemistry-related applications.

The schedule is a rotating day-and-night shift, from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. A TWIC card is required, applicants must pass a background check, and no per diem is provided. Lab experience is preferred, or candidates may have completed two college laboratory courses and one college Algebra class.

Requirements

• Lab experience is preferred, or completion of two college laboratory courses and one college Algebra class.
• May be required to have working knowledge of desktop computer software for developing and using spreadsheets, presentations, reports, and databases.
• Must possess excellent analytical, communication, interpersonal, organizational, judgment and decision-making, and complex problem-solving skills.
• Must have a TWIC card.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Must complete a post-offer drug screen and sign acceptance of the Turner Industries Group, LLC Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy.
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chemical or physical laboratory tests to assist scientists in analyzing solid, liquid, or gaseous materials.
• Maintain, clean, or sterilize laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Set up and conduct chemical experiments, tests, and analyses using techniques such as chromatography, spectroscopy, physical or chemical separation, or microscopy.
• Document test and analysis results.
• Monitor product quality to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
• Prepare chemical solutions for products or processes using standardized formulas, or create experimental formulas.
• Provide technical support or assistance to chemists or engineers.
• Perform additional assignments as directed by a supervisor.
