The Lab Technician performs daily analytical and microbiological testing on incoming raw products, on-line samples, and finished products following established guidelines and procedures. This role involves data entry in the Food Safety System and the internal ERP System, accurate reporting and documentation of test results, and recognizing abnormal results or equipment malfunctions. The technician is responsible for communicating out-of-spec results to the QA Manager, organizing work for maximum efficiency, performing routine maintenance and QC of equipment, and cleaning the work area. Additionally, the role includes performing weekly environmental swabbing, maintaining a positive attitude, using appropriate resource materials, and complying with plant regulations concerning GMPs, safety, and loss control. A key responsibility is identifying and addressing food safety hazards, with the authority to act immediately if possible and the obligation to notify a supervisor or management if a hazard is identified. The employee must also attend all required safety and food safety training and perform any duties assigned by their supervisor, exhibiting accuracy and repeatability in all testing areas.
