About The Position
We are seeking a computer equipment room technician to help various tasks in the Harmonic San Jose LIFT computer lab. This is a Part-time position. You will report to the Lab Manager.
Requirements
- Ability to follow protocols and procedures accurately.
- Able to lift up to 35 lbs. with assistance of a team member.
- Comfortable working on their feet, bending and climbing up/down 4’ platform ladders.
- Basic computer equipment knowledge. With exposure to platforms such as Ubuntu and CLI access.
- Able to follow computer lab safety protocols and procedures.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work on multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Experience in CATV Cable Modem Operations
- Experience in Racking equipment in 19" 45 RU Racks
- Experience in Optical configurations.
Responsibilities
- Assist LIFT Lab team on equipment staging.
- Assist in Lab environment improvement such as Coax cables, Fiber optics, Cat 6 wiring.
- Prepare equipment for shipping.
- Assist in equipment inventory and accounting.
- Collaborate with remote team on equipment testing and configuration.
- Collaborate with LIFT onsite engineer on troubleshooting issues.
Benefits
- Estimated base salary range is between $20-$22 per hour.
