About The Position

Beta Analytic has an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Technician. This is a full-time hourly position - 40 hours per week. There is the potential for additional compensation - Overtime when there is the workload demand (paid at 1 ½ the equivalent hourly rate). The position also includes medical insurance and other employment benefits. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a physical science field is required (Chemistry is a plus).
A minimum of one year of hands-on laboratory work including college/university experience.
Strong attention to detail is required.
Have excellent oral/written communication skills along with computer software skills with the ability to work independently or in a team.
Excellent interpersonal skills and comfortable interfacing with all staff members at all levels of the company.
Be an overall team player.
Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize work to maximize efficiency and meet established deadlines.
Ability to show accountability.
Candidate must be eligible to work in the United States.
Must be comfortable working any day of the week including weekends.

Nice To Haves

Experience with cryogenics, chemicals, vacuum systems, pressure fittings, and familiarity with the behavior of gases under changing pressure (physical chemistry) is also a plus.

Responsibilities

After appropriate training independently prepare samples for analysis according to SGS’ analytical SOPs using basic instrumentation specific to the department and analytical methodologies
Performs routine operation, maintenance, calibration of equipment
May assist with validation and MDL studies.
Inputs and maintains technical information as needed to support the laboratory functions/operations.
Maintains Laboratory Notebook where applicable.
Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
Performs other duties as required.
