About The Position

Stanton Optical is seeking a passionate and customer-focused Lab Technician to join their team. This role is crucial in orchestrating an efficient flow between clinical services and the retail team, ensuring an outstanding patient experience. The Lab Technician will provide excellent customer service, facilitate sales, and foster a strong partnership between the retail and clinical services departments. Requirements

  • Associate's degree or advanced certification beyond a high school diploma, or currently enrolled in a comparable program.
  • 2+ years of experience delivering outstanding customer service to patients and/or customers.
  • Effective communication skills with a diverse group of people.
  • Active listening, rapport-building, and empathy with patients.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills to address patient concerns or rebuttals.
  • Collaborative spirit, building respectful and cordial relationships with team and patients.
  • Results-driven with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and be flexible with changing business needs in a team environment.
  • Passion for customer satisfaction and a positive demeanor.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and customers, identify their needs, and provide information on available products and services.
  • Answer customer inquiries and gather necessary information to facilitate sales.
  • Foster a strong partnership between the retail and professional services teams.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments, enter new patient information, and complete pre-test procedures including obtaining medical history, performing non-contact tonometry, auto-refraction, visual acuity tests, color tests, stereopsis tests, and amsler grid tests.
  • Assist the management team with patient complaint resolution and job status updates, ensuring patient expectations are met.
  • Maintain brand standards through basic housekeeping duties.
  • Perform simple customer repairs, assemble lenses into frames, edge stock lenses, and ensure accurate and timely delivery of eyeglasses.
  • Ensure brand standards are met in the lab area and report equipment malfunctions, incomplete orders, or incorrect lenses to management.
  • Track delivery time commitments to ensure 100% compliance with the 'Ready When Promised' standard.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
