Lab Technician - SFE Days
About The Position
This position is responsible for collecting data on quality attributes of product through performing a series of evaluations. This role is responsible for accurately grading product and filing into the Q.A. Systems in an organized manner, communicating any deviations to Team Leaders and operator work group. It must be able to work easily with all supervisors, operators, sanitation workers and other Process Quality Technicians. In this position you will ensure that the world is eating food safe and high-quality potato products. This position is one of "Staffing for Excellence" (SFE) on our Day Shift team meaning the candidate selected may not be working in this role at all times but displaced to other areas of need such as a General Laborer or Sanitation Worker.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- Effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing.
- Ability to understand instructions and follow directions in English, both written and oral.
- Must be able to be qualified within time frames established by facility.
- Ability to perform basic math functions.
- Basic computer operation knowledge, data entry skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently.
- Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements for job actions and procedures.
- Ability to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.
- Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- May have to sample food while evaluating Lamb Weston products.
- Climbing to various heights via stairs or ladders on a regular basis.
Nice To Haves
- Certification in XX preferred.
- Sanitation certification is preferred.
- If you are not qualified, you will be trained and must meet certification requirements.
Responsibilities
- Collects, delivers, and tests samples in accordance with plant procedures.
- Grades product in accordance with customer specifications and plant procedures.
- Collects, reviews, and files accurate Quality Assurance Data.
- Identifies trends of quality attributes and communicates to operator and floor supervisory group.
- Audits production and packaging processes.
- Trains back-ups and new team members.
- Maintains a neat and clean work area at all times and exhibits good personal hygiene.
- Accomplishes other related work as assigned.
- Attends to other assigned duties of designated roles if QA Lab is fully staffed.
