About The Position

Qualitest is seeking a Lab Technician to join their growing team in Hercules, CA. This role involves preparing and packaging products for shipment, receiving and inspecting incoming goods, managing inventory, performing routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory instruments, and handling biohazardous and hazardous chemicals. The position requires knowledge of lab basics and etiquette, experience in shipping and receiving, and the ability to lift heavy objects. Requirements

  • Know lab basics/etiquette.
  • Experience in shipping and receiving.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and laboratory environment.
  • Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy objects.
  • Certification as a forklift driver.
  • At least HS diploma.
  • Some experience in shipping and receiving.
  • Understanding of lab etiquette.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and package products and instruments for shipment according to company standards.
  • Generate and verify shipping labels, packing lists, and other required documentation.
  • Coordinate with carriers and schedule pickups to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Track shipments and communicate with internal departments regarding the status of deliveries.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure that outgoing shipments meet quality standards.
  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments of products, materials, and supplies.
  • Verify the accuracy of incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists.
  • Report and document any discrepancies or damaged goods and initiate corrective actions.
  • Properly label and store received items in designated areas.
  • Update inventory records and maintain accurate stock levels.
  • Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as required.
  • Monitor stock levels and report low inventory levels to management.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and laboratory environment.
  • Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments.
  • Handle biohazardous and hazardous chemicals according to established protocols and regulations.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines, protocols, and regulatory requirements related to laboratory operations and hazardous material handling.
