About The Position

The Lab Technician creates exceptional value for customers by delivering the LensCrafters Experience. The role manufactures eyewear in accordance with the LensCrafters Quality Manufacturing Program, exceeds customer expectations, and ensures fast, reliable service.

The technician produces eyewear through a range of lens and frame processing steps, operates and maintains laboratory equipment, and uses product knowledge to select appropriate manufacturing processes and meet expected delivery times. The role also includes reviewing Accufit and diagnosing vision care needs, maintaining an organized and safe lab and stock room, and following applicable safety and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Knowledge of store merchandise.

• Previous experience in optical work.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture quality eyewear using the Quality Manufacturing Program, including lens selection, marking, taping, blocking, generating, fining and polishing, coating, inspection, edging, tinting, grooving, drop-ball testing, safety monogramming, mounting, and final inspection.
• Operate, clean, and maintain laboratory tools and equipment.
• Perform multiple tasks simultaneously and accurately under time pressure and customer-volume demands.
• Use product knowledge to determine the appropriate manufacturing process for each order and ensure quality and expected delivery times.
• Pay attention to measurements, calculations, equipment settings, and defective products.
• Follow up on discrepancies, suggest improvements, recommend solutions, and support customer satisfaction.
• Review Accufit and diagnose vision care needs.
• Keep the lab and stock room clean, organized, and safe.
• Comply with safety and regulatory requirements, including proper storage and use of supplies and chemicals.
• Demonstrate safe work practices, including wearing personal protective equipment in the lab.
