As Lab Technician II, you will be responsible for specific laboratory specimens, orders, and information disposition. A caregiver in this role performs specimen investigation procedures to resolve lab specimen issues or problems and performs general lab and quality assurance procedures. While this position is based out of Hillcrest Hospital, you may be required to float to multiple locations. A caregiver in this position works PRN (as needed) variable shifts.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
One year of lab experience

Nice To Haves

Associate's Degree preferably in science (or equivalent credit hours) will substitute for up to one year of experience

Responsibilities

Receive and accession laboratory specimens into the LIS.
Retrieve, sort, track and deliver specimens.
Perform specimen investigation procedures to resolve lab specimen issues or problems.
Verify accurate documentation relative to specimen processing.
Maintain patient, specimen and track data using the laboratory computer system, tracking and software/devices.
Prepare specimens for analysis and accept or reject specimens.
Perform manual processing (centrifuge, aliquoting and routine maintenance).
Perform preventive maintenance and record keeping procedures
Perform basic clerical functions and places work orders
