About The Position

The Lab Technician II works in a fast-paced STAT Laboratory, performing clinical laboratory testing and supporting timely clinical interventions. The role includes testing in clinical chemistry, hematology, coagulation, and basic blood banking, along with quality control, instrument maintenance, results verification, and communication of critical values. The position follows applicable safety, regulatory, and accreditation standards, including CLIA, CAP, and OSHA.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related biological science.
• Valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license.
• At least 1 year of clinical laboratory experience.
• Excellent multitasking abilities and strong analytical skills.
• Ability to thrive under pressure in a high-urgency environment.

Nice To Haves

• Hospital or STAT/core laboratory experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform waived- to high-complexity diagnostic tests in clinical chemistry, hematology, coagulation, and basic blood banking.
• Meet rapid STAT turnaround-time goals to support critical clinical interventions.
• Perform, review, and document daily quality control, instrument calibrations, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Analyze, verify, and accurately report patient test results in the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
• Immediately communicate critical or panic values to attending physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams according to protocol.
• Adhere to safety, regulatory, and accreditation standards, including CLIA, CAP, and OSHA.
