About The Position

This is a full-time, laboratory-based contractor role created to support a high volume of product stability work that must be completed within a tight project timeline. The contractor will work closely with approximately 4-5 formulators and will primarily own the day-to-day execution, tracking, and documentation of stability studies while providing additional hands-on formulation lab support as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Hands-on laboratory experience with the ability to work independently and safely in a formulation/R&D lab environment.
  • Ability to perform and document basic physicochemical testing, including pH and viscosity measurements, using standard laboratory equipment.
  • Strong organization and multitasking skills to manage a high volume of stability studies, sample pulls, measurements, and deadlines concurrently.
  • Accurate data recording and attention to detail; able to recognize changes, deviations, or potential out-of-specification results and escalate promptly.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to support 4-5 formulators at a time, provide timely status updates, and respond proactively to lab priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical certificate, Associate degree, or coursework in Chemistry, Laboratory Science, Chemical Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • A college degree is not required if the candidate has relevant hands-on laboratory experience.
  • Experience with electronic lab records, SAP, or PLM is a plus.
  • 1-2+ years of hands-on laboratory experience in consumer products, home care, personal care, or a related formulation environment.
  • Prior stability testing experience.
  • Familiarity with good laboratory practices, sample traceability, and instrument calibration checks.
  • Quick learner who is dependable, collaborative, flexible, and attentive to day-to-day lab needs.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, organize, label, place, pull, and track stability samples according to defined study protocols and timelines.
  • Perform routine stability evaluations and physicochemical measurements such as appearance, color/odor observations, pH, viscosity, and other defined test methods.
  • Maintain accurate stability trackers, laboratory records, and sample traceability; summarize data and identify trends or changes over time.
  • Promptly communicate missed pulls, unusual observations, test deviations, or potential stability failures to the responsible formulator.
  • Prepare laboratory batches, dilutions, or test samples as directed by formulators and support basic formulation work when stability workload allows.
  • Coordinate priorities across multiple projects/formulators and proactively manage daily and weekly testing schedules to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain good laboratory hygiene and safety practices and support routine instrument care, calibration checks, and readiness of commonly used lab equipment.
  • Support laboratory inventory, materials/sample organization, and general lab readiness so testing can proceed efficiently.
