About The Position

Stratas Foods is seeking a Lab Technician I for the 2nd shift. This role involves performing analytical testing of various vegetable oils according to Stratas Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The technician will test samples at different stages, including production, and inbound/outbound truck and railcar samples. The company is a 50/50 joint venture between ACH Food Companies and Archer Daniels Midland Company, with over 200 years of combined experience, focusing on providing value-added fats and oils solutions.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required

Responsibilities

  • Communicate to management when test results indicate that corrective action is necessary.
  • Prioritize samples as they arrive in laboratory.
  • Complete analytical testing and paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Enter all analysis into data base (TLC).
  • Learn new procedures as necessary.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of laboratory processes and procedures.
  • Attend all training and safety meetings as scheduled.
  • Comply with all safety, food safety, environmental, GMP rules, regulations and policies.
  • Attend scheduled safety and GMP meetings.
  • Packaging line Quality Assurance.
  • Finished product and incoming material testing.
  • Storage of production retains.
  • Communication with supervisor/lead person/Lab Supervisor of laboratory results or quality concerns.
  • Other duties as assigned.
