About The Position
This role is for a Senior Lab Technician on the 3rd shift. The position is located in Santa Rosa, CA and is a 3-month contract. The shift hours are from 10 PM to 6:30 AM. The technician will be responsible for following Standard Operating Procedures, identifying and verifying samples, processing instrument data, reviewing analytical data, transcribing or uploading results, maintaining Chain of Custody documentation, communicating with supervisors, escalating challenges, and promoting a safe work environment.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in chemistry, analytical chemistry, or a related field
- At least one year of experience working in an analytical lab.
- The ability to work safely with biological specimens, chemicals, equipment, and instruments.
Nice To Haves
- Previously lab experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Read, understand, and follow written Standard Operating Procedures
- Correctly identify analyzed samples and verify the accuracy of sequence for each batch
- Process acquired instrument data and generate appropriate reports
- Conduct the first review of GC/MS and/or LC/MS/MS analytical data by each assay SOP
- Transcribe or upload results to the LIS for final review and certification
- Maintain proper and adequate Chain of Custody batch documentation
- Communication with supervisors and prompt escalation of emerging challenges
- Maintain and promote a safe healthful environment for self and co-workers
