About The Position

Lab Tech 1 performs assigned daily laboratory operations to yield data for analysis and recommendation to customers regarding machine and component health. Ensure accuracy and efficiency of testing processes.

Basic understanding of laboratory procedures and equipment
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to follow detailed instructions and protocols
Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Understanding of basic computer applications and willingness to learn new systems
Able to lift 50 lbs.
Able to stand at workstations for extended periods

Responsibilities

Register sample data into electronic systems to track corresponding lab data.
Receive mail and shipments of samples. Open and organize samples prior to processing.
Perform laboratory tests and procedures under the supervision of senior lab staff.
Develop the ability to safely run the following equipment, perform the following tests: Diluter, Viscometer, TBN, TAN, Waters, Coolants, and other tests as assigned.
Collect lab samples from shop, shipping, and parts locations across the campus.
Analyze samples according to established protocols.
Adhere to compliance, safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
Perform daily cleaning rotation of all laboratory surfaces and instruments.
Ensure the safe disposal of lab samples and products.
Performs other duties as assigned.
