We are looking for a Lab Supervisor to lead our team in the finishing department at Kaiser Aluminum Warrick Operations in Newburgh, Indiana.

Requirements

2 years' experience in a laboratory environment, preferably within manufacturing or heavy industry.
Bachelor's degree or 5 years' experience
Strong understanding of testing procedures, chemical safety, and quality management systems.
Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills are essential.

Supervisory experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Supervise, mentor, and schedule a team of Lab Technicians, fostering a culture of safety, accuracy, and efficiency.
Oversee end-of-line product testing, including coating strip weights, lube weights, color analysis, physical properties, and adhesion testing.
Ensure strict adherence to Good Lab Manufacturing Practices (GLMP) and maintain compliance with environmental and safety protocols regarding chemical handling (e.g., sulfuric acid, solvents).
Lead continuous improvement projects to optimize lab workflows, reduce turnaround times, and enhance data integrity.
Act as the primary liaison between the Laboratory and Production Centers to communicate quality trends, troubleshoot defects, and implement corrective actions.
Utilize computer systems to maintain precise records, generate quality reports, and analyze test data to support production decisions.
