We are looking for a Lab Supervisor to lead our team in the finishing department at Kaiser Aluminum Warrick Operations in Newburgh, Indiana.

Requirements

  • 2 years' experience in a laboratory environment, preferably within manufacturing or heavy industry.
  • Bachelor's degree or 5 years' experience
  • Strong understanding of testing procedures, chemical safety, and quality management systems.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills are essential.

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, mentor, and schedule a team of Lab Technicians, fostering a culture of safety, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Oversee end-of-line product testing, including coating strip weights, lube weights, color analysis, physical properties, and adhesion testing.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Good Lab Manufacturing Practices (GLMP) and maintain compliance with environmental and safety protocols regarding chemical handling (e.g., sulfuric acid, solvents).
  • Lead continuous improvement projects to optimize lab workflows, reduce turnaround times, and enhance data integrity.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the Laboratory and Production Centers to communicate quality trends, troubleshoot defects, and implement corrective actions.
  • Utilize computer systems to maintain precise records, generate quality reports, and analyze test data to support production decisions.
