The Kendall Laboratory within the Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Cancer Biology at the University of Virginia School of Medicine is seeking a Laboratory Specialist to work on projects investigating host-microbe-pathogen interactions. Under the supervision of Dr. Kendall, the incumbent will participate in laboratory projects involving a combination of microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, microscopy and small animals (mice) techniques. Research activity conducted includes, but is not limited to, general microbiology, molecular biology and biochemical techniques (cloning and sequence analysis, immuno-precipitation, RNA purification and western-blot), cell culture using immortalized and primary cell lines, and small animal (mice) handling.
