About The Position

This role is responsible for coordinating, scheduling and training staff along with performing phlebotomy services in patients, outpatient and outreach patients for the OMH location. This position requires the employee to have a valid Wisconsin driver license. Every-other week on call rotation. Currently no weekend or holiday rotations associated with this role Start time varies between 0400-0845. ProHealth Care offers a system-wide laboratory operation with core hospital labs at Waukesha Memorial and Oconomowoc Memorial as well as two clinic-based laboratory sites in Waukesha County. The laboratory performs over 8 million tests annually. Our Lab services operate state of the art facilities and include clinical testing in the areas of Histology, Cytology, Hematology, Coagulation, Clinical Chemistry, Urinalysis, Immunoassay, Microbiology, Transfusion service, EIA, and Molecular Biology. ProHealth Care offers a vibrant outreach program, providing laboratory testing to numerous specialty hospitals, physician offices, nursing home, and assisted living facilities. Our Pathologists and PhDs work closely with lab employees to monitor quality, as well as identify, access, and implement new technology. The Laboratory has certification and accreditation through the College of American Pathologists (CAP), American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of relevant experience preferred
  • ASCP or AMT certified as a Phlebotomist, Medical Laboratory Technician or Clinical Laboratory Technician or equivalent or eligible preferred
  • Must have the ability to help at various PHC Lab locations as needed.
  • This position requires a weekend on-call rotation in order to meet minimum staffing for the department in the event of a staff call-in, late arrival, early departure, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for overseeing and monitoring the daily operations of the Client Support Services and / or Phlebotomy Departments of ProHealth Care Laboratories.
  • This includes client services, specimen processing, nursing home phlebotomy, inpatient/outpatient phlebotomy, send-outs, microbiology set-ups, and courier services.
  • This role coordinates, assesses and adjusts workflow, develops and maintains schedule, serves as a resource to staff, and assists in addressing customer concerns.
  • Must have the ability to help at various PHC Lab locations as needed.
