About The Position

Metrohm USA is seeking a highly motivated Lab Robotics Business Manager to lead the commercial growth and market expansion of our laboratory automation and robotics solutions across the United States and Canada. This is a unique opportunity for a commercial professional who thrives at the intersection of Business Development, Technical Sales, Product Strategy, Partner Management, and Laboratory Automation. As the commercial lead for Metrohm USA's lab robotics offering, you will identify and develop new opportunities, build strategic relationships with automation integrators, and guide complex projects from initial discovery through implementation. Based in either Houston, TX or Tampa, FL, the Lab Robotics Business Manager will serve as the primary commercial leader for Metrohm USA's robotics portfolio, owning market development activities, strategic partner relationships, opportunity progression, and revenue growth. This role is ideal for an individual with a strong sales background, experience managing complex technical projects, and a passion for laboratory automation and workflow optimization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific, technical, engineering, or business-related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Proven success in technical sales, business development, account management, or commercial leadership within laboratory automation, robotics, analytical instrumentation, or related industries.
  • Demonstrated track record of developing, qualifying, and closing complex, solution-based sales opportunities.
  • Experience positioning, scoping, and selling laboratory automation, robotics, workflow solutions, or capital equipment.
  • Strong understanding of analytical chemistry workflows and automation requirements.
  • Experience managing complex customer projects with multiple stakeholders and longer sales cycles.
  • Strong prospecting, opportunity qualification, and pipeline management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive new business development and revenue growth.
  • Experience leading consultative sales discussions and executive-level presentations.
  • Ability to translate technical requirements into compelling customer value propositions.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across sales, marketing, applications, product management, and partner organizations.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
  • Must pass pre-employment background check, education and employment verification, and a 10-panel drug screening (including marijuana).

  • Background in technical sales, applications engineering, product management, project management, or consultative solution selling strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, qualify, and develop laboratory automation opportunities throughout the U.S. and Canada.
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of robotics and automation projects.
  • Lead customer discovery discussions to uncover workflow challenges and automation opportunities.
  • Advance opportunities through the sales process and support successful project closure.
  • Build and manage relationships with laboratory automation integrators.
  • Expand Metrohm's automation capabilities and market reach through strategic partnerships.
  • Collaborate with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders to deliver successful solutions.
  • Lead the strategy, positioning, and commercial growth of Metrohm USA's lab robotics offering.
  • Capture market intelligence and customer feedback to support product development and roadmap decisions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for laboratory automation solutions.
  • Document customer workflows using process maps, workflow diagrams, and automation concepts.
  • Coordinate project scoping activities with integrators, product teams, and applications specialists.
  • Support the successful transition of opportunities from concept through implementation.
