The Dooms Lab in the Department of Immunology and Genomic Medicine at National Jewish Health is seeking a highly motivated Lab Research Technician to support our research program in autoimmune diseases. The candidate will perform experiments using rodent models and human patient samples. The main goal of the lab is to understand the role of T cells in the pathogenesis of Scleroderma/Systemic Sclerosis and Type 1 Diabetes. We have developed novel models for these diseases that will allow us to better understand how the balance between pathogenic and protective T cells is dysregulated in autoimmunity. The successful candidate will assist in analyzing these models, generating knowledge that will be leveraged for the development of new therapeutic strategies. The ideal candidate has a strong interest in experimental immunology, is accurate and organized, and is driven to learn new laboratory skills and techniques. Experience with rodent handling, genotyping, patient samples, tissue culture and flow cytometry is a plus. Position Summary: The position performs as an entry-level technician under the direction of a Principal Investigator or Laboratory Manager, which may include assisting in collecting, tabulating and analyzing research data.
