About The Position

The primary responsibility of this role is to support the Powertrain Testing - Lab Operations function at the client Michigan site. Reporting to the Manager of Operations – Central Lab Ops, the person in this role will support the Powertrain Testing department's objective to ensure testing readiness.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Understanding of propulsion systems.
• Understanding of CFR Emission Testing Requirements.
• Proficiency with data acquisition tools (Panel 4, ETAS or Hioki).
• Proficiency with modeling platforms.

• Professional Engineering License (PE)
• Proficiency in reading electrical and mechanical prints.

Responsibilities

• Support the Powertrain Testing department's objective to ensure testing readiness.
• Execute tests using engine, powertrain, or vehicle chassis dynamometers and emission analyzers.
• Verify test results against Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and certification procedures (such as FTP, HWFE, and US06).
• Analyze emission outputs, particulate matter (PM), and fuel economy data to optimize engine performance.
• Diagnose equipment or vehicle anomalies in controlled test cells and environmental chambers.
• Support on-site teams to ensure facilities are supporting current and new activities, including Battery Development & Testing at new Battery Lab Facility, Prototype Development, Powertrain Testing, Full Vehicle Component Level, Purchasing, and IT & Security.
• Provide Engineering Support for Powertrain Testing Operations.
• Oversee and resolve problems associated with testing equipment.
• Support daily operations and problem-solve issues, developing countermeasures.
