About The Position
The primary responsibility of this role is to support the Powertrain Testing - Lab Operations function. Reporting to the Manager of Operations – Central Lab Ops, the person in this role will support the Powertrain Testing department's objective to ensure testing readiness.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in engineering.
- Understanding of propulsion systems.
- Understanding of CFR Emission Testing Requirements.
- Proficiency with data acquisition tools (Panel 4, ETAS or Hioki).
- Proficiency with modeling platforms.

- Professional Engineering License (PE)
- Proficiency in reading electrical and mechanical prints
Responsibilities
- Support the Powertrain Testing department's objective to ensure testing readiness.
- Execute tests using engine, powertrain, or vehicle dynamometers and emission analyzers.
- Verify test results against Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and certification procedures (such as FTP, HWFE, and US06).
- Analyze emission outputs, particulate matter (PM), and fuel economy data to optimize engine performance.
- Diagnose equipment or vehicle anomalies in controlled test cells and environmental chambers.
- Support on-site teams to ensure facilities are supporting current and new R&D activities.
- Provide engineering support for Powertrain Testing Operations.
- Oversee and resolve problems associated with R&D testing equipment.
- Support daily operations and problem-solve issues, developing countermeasures.
