About The Position

Tempus is seeking a passionate Lab Operations Analyst to join their team, focusing on advancing precision medicine and the healthcare industry. This hybrid role requires 3 days onsite in Chicago, IL, with a shift from Tuesday to Saturday, 12pm-8:30pm CST. The company is dedicated to decoding and processing genetic makeup, leveraging vast amounts of genomic and molecular data to provide physicians with real-time, actionable insights for personalized cancer treatment. The laboratory operations team is crucial in developing state-of-the-art techniques for processing, creating, and interpreting this data.

Requirements

  • 4 year college degree in Biological Sciences or similar is preferred.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized and systematic, superb attention to detail and ability to complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Show initiative and ability to work as part of a high-level team while working independently.
  • Proven ability to learn new skills quickly and adapt to new processes smoothly.

Responsibilities

  • Managing samples in the laboratory information management system (LIMS) and ensuring quick and efficient specimen processing.
  • Developing a firm understanding of internal lab processes and databases with respect to pharmaceutical and partner ops projects.
  • Communicating directly with various members of pharma/partner ops departments to provide clarity on specimen status, delays, and expected completion dates.
  • Responding to inquiries by email, slack and in person quickly and professionally.
  • Tracking and managing progress on pharma/partner ops laboratory projects.
  • Participating in monitoring audits of sample status and prevention of delays.
  • Monitoring high priority orders to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
