Requirements

At least 21 years of age.
Pass a Federal and State criminal history background check.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in related fields; Science or Engineering preferred.
Management experience.
General lab experience is preferred.
Strong attention to detail – extraction needs to be approached with alertness and safety!
Desire and ability to work as a member of a team.
Compliance with all HR policies including confidentiality and non-disclosure.
Maintain open communication with the management team and other co-workers.
Strong work ethics – be accountable and proactive.
Ability to adjust to a rapidly changing environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work at a fast pace in a high production environment!

Responsibilities

Overseeing lab production activities including extraction, distillation, post processing, third-party testing, white label partnership production, safety training and consumable inventory management.
Ensuring lab department is compliant with company, state, and industry standards.
Monitoring extraction technicians in operating primary and secondary extraction equipment, troubleshooting lab equipment, handling WIP materials, routine cleaning and preventative maintenance of lab equipment.
Monitoring staff during filtration, refinement, distillation, solvent recovery, decarboxylation, formulation, and edible dosing.
Scheduling and overseeing the filling of vape cartridges, capsules, and syringes, troubleshooting filling machines, ensuring routine cleaning and preventative maintenance are performed.
Scheduling sample pick-ups with the Third-Party Testing lab for both inputs and outputs.
Maintaining inventory levels within the lab of all required solvents, tools and consumables.
Performing basic troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repairs on small equipment such as pumps, vape filling machines, dab dispensers, extraction equipment, chillers, heaters.
Working directly with the General Manager to schedule strains for extraction and products for post-processing as needed to maintain a full set of available product SKUs for the sales team.
Ensuring all lab spaces and equipment are consistently cleaned and maintained.
Performing regular safety trainings for all lab staff as well as safety checks on equipment, SOPs and PPE.
Consistently maintaining accurate records of inventory and processes within Metrc, the state of Maryland's required seed-to-sale tracking system.
Communication to the General Manager and other leadership on the progress of the lab, state of equipment and upcoming product availability.
Participating in MCA or MOSH inspections when necessary including inventory oversight, process exploration, safety considerations and waste management.
Motivating and encouraging a high degree of enthusiasm and buy-in from direct reports and staff at large.
Addressing low performance quickly, compassionately, and in alignment with company policies.
Collaborating effectively with Human Resources and appropriate partners.
Retaining and developing top performers by understanding individuals motivations and providing actionable feedback.
Performing all other duties as necessary.
