About The Position

The Lab Maintenance Supervisor ensures the proper operation and maintenance of critical laboratory equipment and facility infrastructure at our Pontiac, MI location. In this leadership role, you will oversee Skilled Tradesmen and coordinate OEM Service Providers to deliver exceptional service and optimize the Total Productive Maintenance process. You'll lead your team in executing preventative maintenance, managing reactive work orders, and completing minor projects—all within a represented worker environment. Reporting to the Operations Manager of the Lab Maintenance Department, this position is essential to maintaining operational excellence and supporting JLL's commitment to delivering world-class facility management services.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • Minimum of 5 years hands-on maintenance experience in an industrial or laboratory environment
  • Prior supervisory experience in a represented worker environment (UAW or similar union setting)
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access)
  • Strong understanding of building systems including general HVAC, motor and pump systems, piping systems, electrical systems, and general building repair
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences
  • Proven ability to operate within collective bargaining agreements and master service agreement contract language

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or related field
  • Experience with Corrigo and Maximo work order management systems
  • Familiarity with Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) and Business Plan Development (BPD) processes
  • Knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodologies
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing principles
  • Strong time management skills and demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within team environments

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop Mechanical and Electrical Tradesmen to optimize maintenance capabilities through skills development, tools, and technology
  • Oversee vendor support for OEM and outside service providers while ensuring compliance with Management of Change (MOC) and Safety Contract Management (SCM) processes
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical control systems on critical laboratory equipment
  • Manage Corrigo and Maximo Work Order processes to meet customer needs and achieve KPI metrics
  • Deliver daily Fast Response reporting for customer disruptions and support weekend/holiday shutdown planning through the Interruption Process
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance activities to maximize equipment useful life and achieve 100% Safety PM Completion
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives for Total Productive Maintenance metrics, safety performance, and cost-saving opportunities
