About The Position

This role involves assisting with a two-day anatomy workshop for incoming Physical Therapy (PT) and Occupational Therapy (OT) Qualifying Year and International students. Lab helpers will be responsible for two stations each, reviewing specific cadaveric anatomy. The duties include preparing assigned stations, developing quiz and clinical case study questions, demonstrating anatomical structures using prosections, differentiating structures, answering questions related to clinical relevance for PT or OT, and providing clinical insight on anatomical structures and potential implications of injury or degeneration.

Requirements

  • Student in the BSc in Rehabilitation Science (PT or OT) with excellent knowledge of anatomy
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be authorized to work in Canada
  • Willing to work in the province of Quebec at the campus where the position is based / located
  • Level 4 English proficiency on a scale of 0-4

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a UCA for ANAT 315/316 or Anatomy tutor
  • Previous work as a prosector in the anatomy lab or anatomy tutor

Responsibilities

  • Review the Anatomy Workshop structure list consisting of all required structures to be covered during the two x half-day workshop
  • Complete pre-workshop content preparations for 2 assigned stations (one on each day)
  • Develop quiz questions for own stations
  • Develop clinical case study questions for own stations (related to the clinical relevance of the anatomical structures)
  • Demonstrate the assigned anatomical structures stations (x2) to students with the use of prosections
  • Differentiate identified structures from adjacent structures
  • Answer questions related to the clinical relevance of the anatomical structures for either PT or OT, with reference to the material taught at the School and, if applicable, to clinical experience from prior clinical placements
  • Provide clinical insight on predetermined anatomical structures and discuss potential implications of injury/ degeneration of these structures for specific populations
