Nice To Haves

  • Proven experience in precision soldering under a microscope; certification (e.g., IPC-A-610) is a significant plus.
  • Familiarity with modern microprocessor architectures (x86, ARM) and high-speed interfaces (PCIe, DDR4/5).
  • Proficiency with DMMs, Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, and BIOS flashing tools.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced R&D environment and maintain a highly organized workspace.
  • Hands‑on experience with system assembly and hardware bring‑up.
  • Experience with firmware flashing and OS installation.
  • Familiarity with thermal/chiller setups and liquid‑cooling lab environments.
  • Ability to debug basic hardware, boot, and thermal issues.
  • Comfortable working with remote management tools and command‑line environments.
  • Ability to manage and support large system counts in a lab environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble workstation systems and perform initial bring‑up and power‑on validation.
  • Flash and maintain BIOS/UEFI, BMC, CPLD, uCode, and platform firmware.
  • Install, image, and re‑image operating systems as required.
  • Enable and validate remote access (BMC, serial console, KVM, SSH, remote power).
  • Diagnose and triage boot failures (no‑POST, BIOS hang, OS boot issues).
  • Perform basic hardware debug: reseating, component swaps, cable checks, and log capture.
  • Set up, operate, and monitor thermal solutions including chillers, cold plates, heat exchangers, and temperature sensors.
  • Coordinate thermal hookups, coolant flow checks, leak checks, and safe operation during bring‑up and validation.
  • Own daily operation and health of ~300 lab systems, ensuring uptime and readiness.
  • Track system inventory, configurations, firmware levels, thermal setups, and issues using standard trackers.
  • Coordinate with platform, BIOS, firmware, validation, IT, facilities, and EHS teams for lab and thermal readiness.
  • Follow lab SOPs, safety, and security requirements, especially for thermal and liquid‑cooling environments.
