About The Position

As a Lab Engineer II here with Honeywell Aerospace, you will be responsible for conducting furnace and burner rig testing in a dynamic laboratory environment. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach, strong analytical skills, and a passion for experimental work including interest in learning to operate equipment with varying operating controls. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Lab Engineer II to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting furnace and burner rig testing in a dynamic laboratory environment.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
Must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.
Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Nice To Haves

Experience with laboratory testing, preferably involving furnaces or open flame testing.
Demonstrates safety consciousness when working around flames and hot objects, ensuring careful handling and adherence to best practices.
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Fundamental understanding of aerospace materials such as nickel super alloys, aluminum, titanium, and powder metallurgy.
Experience to design/modify fixtures and test methods for non-standard mechanical properties measurement
Proficiency with CAD software for designing and analyzing mechanical components.

Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and monitor furnace and burner rigs for testing according to established protocols as well as other equipment in a lab environment.
Collect and analyze data from experiments, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
Take ownership of assigned tasks and ensure completion with attention to detail and quality standards.
Demonstrate accountability for laboratory outcomes and contribute proactively to continuous improvement efforts.
Maintain laboratory equipment, perform routine calibrations, and troubleshoot as needed.
Document test procedures, results, and observations in technical reports.
Apply 5S principles—Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain—to maintain an organized, clean, and efficient lab environment.
Adhere to safety standards and contribute to a safe working environment.
Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and self-motivation in managing tasks and solving challenges.
