About The Position

Join our team at Barnes Jewish Hospital as a Lab Associate to make a direct impact on patient care and operations. This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with rotating weekends. The day shift is from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. This role is benefits-eligible and located at Barnes Jewish Hospital. The minimum educational requirement is a High School Diploma or GED. The staff includes full-time academic faculty and community physicians from Washington University School of Medicine, supported by residents, interns, fellows, and other medical professionals. Requirements

• <2 years of experience
• No Supervisor Experience

• Phlebotomy certification

Responsibilities

• Interpret physician orders and order tests in appropriate system.
• Perform phlebotomy, positive patient identification, and positive patient interaction, proper collection and specimen integrity. May work in outpatient lab, in physician office, or off campus patient service center.
• Sort and process specimens received by the laboratory and proficiently handle all specimens received in the lab.
• Coordinates a simultaneous series of tasks accurately, including STAT orders and fluctuation in workload, prioritizing work to complete within scheduled hours and established turnaround times.
• May perform registration, inventory maintenance, and other duties as assigned.
