About The Position

This is a Lab Coordinator position, not a Lab Tech position. The role involves preparing sample-collection kits, assisting with participant recruitment and scheduling, managing kit logistics (pickup and dropoff), reconciling collected samples with documentation, communicating with participants regarding documentation errors, de-identifying samples, data entry into an electronic database, and maintaining study records. Access and training for all duties will be provided.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in a scientific discipline plus 1 year lab experience required or Bachelors Degree in a scientific discipline
  • Ability to demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Strong time management skills required
  • Must be proficient in English with the ability to read, write, analyze/evaluate charts, follow simple diagrams and perform basic arithmetic

Responsibilities

  • Prepare Sample-collection Kits for self-collected samples by sample donors
  • Help send recruitment/scheduling emails to the potential/consented study participants to recruit them or schedule weekly collection activities
  • Pickup and Dropoff the new and used kits from designated spots in 5 building locations within 1-2 miles distance
  • Reconcile used kits with self-collected samples and collection logs, checking for consenting status and proper documentation
  • Add notes on collection logs based on findings and organize them for the site-coordinator
  • Communicate with subjects about documentation errors or missing consent and follow through with actions
  • Separate samples from the collection log (de-identifying) and provide samples to teams or store them as directed
  • Provide support inputting data from collection activities into the ASCP electronic database and secure servers
  • Track and file all relevant documents for records in the site’s study binders and electronic files
  • Help with site-level activities to run the program as a backup, as assigned and needed
