About The Position

Serova builds personalized cancer vaccines. Each vaccine is made for the individual patient from their own samples and given in partnership with their treating physician. To do that for many patients at once, we're building a heavily automated lab in San Francisco. The role Making a vaccine for every patient only works if the lab is heavily automated. We're hiring two automation engineers, one for hardware and one for software. In this role you'll own the hardware: designing, building and integrating the robotic systems. What you'll work on Automating patient sample immunomonitoring so it is cheaper and faster Automating mRNA-LNP manufacturing and quality control Higher-throughput data generation for our immunology work

Requirements

  • 3+ years building robotic or automated systems
  • Mechanical, electrical or mechatronics design: CAD, prototyping, integration
  • Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, or willing to relocate
  • Authorized to work in the US, or a realistic path to get there

Nice To Haves

  • Lab automation: integrated liquid handlers, plate movers, incubators or custom workcells
  • You've shipped hardware that runs in production, not only prototypes
  • Range: mechanical, electronics and enough software to make it all talk
  • Regulated or cleanroom environments, such as GMP or medical devices
  • You've been a founder or very early employee at a hardware startup
