About The Position

Serova builds personalized cancer vaccines. Each vaccine is made for the individual patient from their own samples and given in partnership with their treating physician. To do that for many patients at once, we're building a heavily automated lab in San Francisco. The role is to own the software for robot scheduling, instrument control, sample tracking and getting data out of instruments into our systems. You will be automating patient sample immunomonitoring so it is cheaper and faster, automating mRNA-LNP manufacturing and quality control, and enabling higher-throughput data generation for our immunology work.

Requirements

  • 2+ years writing production software
  • Programmed lab robots or instruments, or built software that controls physical hardware
  • Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, or willing to relocate
  • Authorized to work in the US, or a realistic path to get there

Nice To Haves

  • Liquid handler programming: PyLabRobot, Opentrons API, Hamilton VENUS or similar
  • Lab data systems: LIMS, ELN, sample tracking, instrument integrations
  • Built tools scientists use every day
  • Worked at a bench yourself
  • Startup experience, Seed to Series B, in a small team
