About The Position

BJC HealthCare System is hiring a Full-Time Lab Associate III - Phlebotomy for Memorial East Shiloh - Laboratory-MES. This role involves providing excellent patient care while drawing lab specimens on inpatients and outpatients, replenishing supplies, and ensuring effective communication. The position is a Day Shift role, Monday to Friday, from 5am to 1:30pm. Experience in Phlebotomy is required, and PCT experience is a plus.

• 2 or more years of Phlebotomy experience

Responsibilities

• Performs waived and moderate complex testing with appropriate training and competency, sweat chloride collections, EKG's, etc.
• Under supervision, reports test results as appropriate.
• Sorts and processes routine and specific high level specimens received by the lab--including multistep technical processing (i.e. Histology, Microbiology, Cytology, etc.). Ensures correct processing and packaging for esoteric send out tests.
• Coordinates a simultaneous series of tasks accurately, including STAT orders and fluctuation in workload, prioritizing work to complete within scheduled hours and established turnaround times.
• Inventory management, equipment cleaning, maintenance, loading, etc.
• Providing excellent patient care while drawing lab specimens on inpatients & outpatients.
• Replenishing supplies, provides effective communication
