This position helps with central receiving, inpatient, and outpatient coverage. The Lab Associate Coordinator is responsible for the oversight of all technical functions for Specimen Collection and Processing. They supervise laboratory activities to ensure that procedures are performed promptly, accurately, and precisely according to department and hospital policies and procedures. This role may participate in the development of departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets and have direct responsibility for adhering to those goals, including responding to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals. The position also ensures compliance with regulatory guidelines. BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
