About The Position

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Lab Associate 3 Clinical to join their Infectious Disease Specimen Receiving team in Nashville, Tennessee. This role involves triaging and processing advanced specimens independently, collaborating with laboratory staff, medical professionals, and external customers to troubleshoot and resolve issues. The position also includes packing and shipping laboratory specimens to referring laboratories. Requirements

  • 1 year of relevant work experience
  • High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

  • Sorting, triaging, receiving, sending, processing and batching specimens
  • Accessioning specimens received with a requisition
  • Processing samples pre-analytically for testing
  • Processing test add-ons and resolving any pre-analytical specimen or test issues
