The Lab Associate 2 Clinical role, within the Cytopathology organization, is responsible for accessioning and packaging specimens or patient tissue materials for testing, including sending them to referring laboratories with minimal guidance. This role involves close collaboration with laboratory staff, medical staff, and external customers, as well as performing customer service functions like telephone etiquette and basic troubleshooting.   • Quality Assurance (Novice)

  • 1 year of Relevant Work Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

  • Accessioning specimens or patient tissue materials for testing including packaging specimens or tissue materials to be sent out to referring laboratory with minimal guidance
  • Works closely with all laboratory staff, medical staff, and external customers
  • Performs customer service functions including telephone etiquette and basic troubleshooting and problem resolution
  • Sorting, triaging, receiving, sending, processing and batching specimens
  • Processing samples pre-analytically for testing
  • Providing general clerical support
