About The Position
This is a 2nd shift position responsible for accessioning specimens or patient tissue materials for testing, including packaging specimens or tissue materials to be sent out to referring laboratories with minimal guidance. The role involves working closely with all laboratory staff, medical staff, and external customers, performing customer service functions such as telephone etiquette, basic troubleshooting, and problem resolution. Requirements
- 1 year of relevant work experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Quality Assurance (Novice)
- Specimen Collection (Novice)
- Pathology (Novice)
- Laboratory Practices (Novice)
- Customer Service (Novice)
- Equipment Maintenance (Novice)
Responsibilities
- Sorting, triaging, receiving, sending, processing and batching specimens
- Processing samples pre-analytically for testing
- Providing general clerical support
- Accessioning specimens or patient tissue materials for testing
- Packaging specimens or tissue materials to be sent out to referring laboratory with minimal guidance
- Performing customer service functions including telephone etiquette and basic troubleshooting and problem resolution
