About The Position
Provide general assistance to technologists and pathologists to ensure smooth work flow for the entire department. This is a midshift position, working from 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must adhere to all department protocols and procedures.
- Must be reliable, dependable and have an excellent attendance history.
- Must be a team player.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
- Ability to deal effectively and professionally with others.
- Working knowledge of office equipment.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science preferred.
Responsibilities
- Change, load, rotate, clean and maintain processors.
- Change, load, rotate, clean and maintain staining instrumentation.
- Change, load, and maintain coverslipper.
- Compare slides to blocks to ensure case numbers are correct and tissue matches.
- Compare slides to requisition forms to ensure case numbers are correct and tissue matches.
- Restock supplies as needed.
- Dispose of hazardous waste according to procedure.
- Adhere to all department protocols and procedures.
- Be reliable, dependable and have an excellent attendance history.
- Be a team player.
- Other duties as assigned.
