About The Position

Newberry Health is hiring a full-time Lab Assistant to work Wednesday through Friday at its healthcare facility in Newberry County, South Carolina. The Lab Assistant performs phlebotomy services for inpatients and outpatients in a timely, professional, and compassionate manner and supports laboratory operations through essential day-to-day functions. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program or equivalent training and experience. One year of prior experience and phlebotomy certification are preferred.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy procedures accurately and efficiently while minimizing patient discomfort.
• Collect and properly label blood specimens as ordered by physicians.
• Handle and transport specimens according to laboratory standards.
• Support laboratory staff with day-to-day tasks as needed.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to safety and compliance standards.
