This role requires excellent speaking and hearing abilities for communication with staff and patients, both in person and by telephone. The position involves sitting, walking, bending/stooping, lifting, and reaching to perform pre-analysis, analysis, and post-analysis specimen testing. Excellent documentation and organizational skills, along with knowledge of good laboratory practices, are essential. Visual acuity is necessary for reading and interpreting CLIA waived lab tests, following technical procedures, and reporting results. The ability to operate a laboratory centrifuge and perform various blood collection techniques is required. Due to regular contact with biohazardous specimens, there is an inherent risk of exposure to bloodborne diseases (OSHA Risk Category I).
