About The Position
Lab Assistants are responsible for all aspects of collection and processing of biological specimens for clinical laboratory testing while maintaining the Mission and Values of the Gateway Regional Medical Center. The Lab Assistant will assist with maintaining laboratory operations and perform other tasks as necessary to ensure continuity of patient care.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Completion of a phlebotomy training program or equivalent
- Board accredited phlebotomy certification or equivalent
- Current Basic Life Support (AHA or American Red Cross BLS) certification
- Ability to read and understand written data and medical terminology
- Good verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with all age groups
- Ability to perform all specimen processing functionalities
- Data entry skills
- Order and report distribution skills
- Professional customer service skills and positive attitude
- Ability to learn and retain policy, procedure, and computer training
