About The Position

Quest Diagnostics is recruiting a Lab Assistant I to provide a wide variety of support for an assigned laboratory department. The position is based in Dearborn, Michigan, and is scheduled Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with rotational weekends. The employee may be eligible for a shift differential of 10% for some or all second-shift hours; details will be provided if an offer is extended.

The role includes handling and sorting samples, maintaining specimen storage, supporting laboratory supply operations, answering and directing phone calls, and performing waived tests under supervision. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with rotational weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provides a wide variety of support for the assigned lab department.
• Picks up samples from accessioning and sorts samples into appropriate racks.
• Answers phone calls and directs them appropriately.
• Unpacks and stores reagents and supplies.
• Inventories and orders warehouse supply items.
• Sorts samples and distributes them to the appropriate setup hood.
• Manages the specimen library within established time frames.
• Performs waived tests under supervision.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
