Lab Assistant - Hospital Processor Second Shift
About The Position
The Lab Assistant - Hospital Processor performs a vital part of patient care by ensuring laboratory specimens are properly processed, prepared, routed, and stored. The role involves recognizing when corrective action is needed and implementing effective solutions, while championing safety, compliance, and quality control. Work takes place in a laboratory environment with biological hazards and PPE requirements. The position is located in Tyler, Texas, and is scheduled Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday from 12:30 PM to 8:30 PM, for 40 hours per week. The role has routine access to Protected Health Information (PHI); employees receive training on safeguards and must maintain strict confidentiality and follow applicable privacy and security standards, accessing PHI only as required for their duties.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous training or experience in specimen collection or processing.
- Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including telephones, computers, centrifuges, and audible alarms.
Nice To Haves
- 1–2 years of related experience in a clinical laboratory, data entry, or production.
