This position is a part-time, temporary position filled each semester on an as-needed basis. The role involves maintaining a safe and orderly lab environment, preparing lab samples, assisting students with equipment operation and lab activities, and maintaining, setting up, and repairing lab equipment. The assistant will also help faculty with setting up and calibrating tools and creating procedures for their proper operation. Activities and solutions to issues will be documented via email, written reports, etc. The lab equipment includes, but is not limited to, microcontrollers, multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies, soldering irons, 3D printers, CNC milling machines, programmable logic controllers, Rockwell hardness tester, specimen mounting press, orbital polisher, polariscope, tensile tester, microscopes, and furnace.
