Lab Aide - Laboratory Services - ROP - Day Shift Including Some Weekends and Holidays

This is a full-time day shift position 9:00am-5:00pm including some weekends and holidays, Monday-Friday including rotating weekends and holidays, located at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist hospital. All roles require on-site presence and employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Computer literacy
Nice To Haves
- Six months of laboratory or hospital-based experience
Responsibilities
- Ensure that all laboratory areas are properly maintained.
- Assist the laboratory staff in maintaining workstations in the clinical laboratories, e.g. stocking supplies, rotating waste containers, storing and purging specimens.
- Clean laboratory equipment; examine cleaned equipment to detect damaged or broken equipment; sterilize glassware and equipment as needed.
- Transport specimens between patient care areas and laboratories and deliver to the appropriate testing area.
