About The Position

SOSi is seeking a Kubernetes Engineer to support mission requirements for a structured approach to further develop, integrate, and sustain a scalable, federated data ecosystem that enhances interoperability, governance, and mission-driven analytics for a DoD customer. The primary objective of the program is to bridge the operational gaps between DoD, IC, interagency, and non-traditional international partners to enable real-time information sharing, dynamic data integration, and mission-tailored analytical capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cloud Computing, or a related field, or; five (5) years of equivalent experience in Kubernetes administration.
  • Demonstrated experience in deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters, troubleshooting containerized applications, and implementing service mesh architectures such as Istio or Linkerd.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible is required.
  • Possess the knowledge and capability to design, deploy, and manage containerized applications in a cloud-native environment using Kubernetes.
  • Proficient in Kubernetes cluster orchestration, container networking, Helm chart deployment, and automation of CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure services (AWS, Azure, GCP), security best practices, and Kubernetes monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, deploy, and maintain Kubernetes clusters tailored for each IL environment (IL2, IL4, IL5), ensuring support for ESRI ArcGIS services and integration with agency-provided infrastructure from WO-001.
  • Develop and manage Helm charts and Kubernetes Operators for declarative deployment and automated scaling of ESRI services, including Notebook Server and GeoAnalytics Server.
  • Configure persistent volume claims and provision container-native storage (e.g., AWS EBS, Azure Disks) to support ESRI workloads, ensuring durability and compliance with backup and recovery policies.
  • Integrate Kubernetes-native monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Fluentd, or OpenTelemetry) to support observability and IL-compliant reporting across environments.
