About The Position

Provides operational direction and management support for the overall TSA Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center and related properties under the direction of The Salvation Army Administrator (Officer); provides leadership and overall direction to staff; maintains safety of the facilities, children, staff and volunteers; ensures compliance with The Salvation Army policies and TSA Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center mission objectives to optimize financial and service performance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of BA degree in public administration or related field
  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in a significant national non-profit educational, religious, recreational, athletic or entertainment facility
  • Minimum of five (5) years prior experience managing multiple disciplined professional staff and directing overall operations
  • Or Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Valid South Carolina State Driver’s License
  • Clear Driving record as determined by motor vehicle report required by The Salvation Army.
  • Valid certification as an instructor for Bloodborne Pathogens, Emergency First Aid, CPR (including infant), AED Supplement and Lifeguard instruction
  • Ability to meet attendance requirements.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate the English language.
  • Ability to perform frequent walking and or/standing, relieved by periods of sitting.
  • Ability to operate a motorized vehicle in a safe and compliant manner.

Responsibilities

  • Directs activities in assigned areas and business functions to optimize operational efficiency (i.e. development and implementation of budgets); leads in development of fiscally sound programs; leads in the recommended hiring, discipline, review, rewarding and termination of TSA Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center staff; oversees staff scheduling to ensure appropriate personnel levels; implements and enforces facilities, child safety and maintenance policies; evaluates and directs venues/business to ensure compliance with The Salvation Army policy and TSA Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center mission objectives and to optimize financial and service performance.
  • Develop a strategic plan to advance TSA Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center mission and objectives.
  • Provides calm and consistent leadership in the areas of security and crisis situations; maintains professional attitude and approach to problem solving at all times; informs the Kroc Administrator/Area Coordinator of serious situations and requests assistance from the Kroc Administrator /Area Coordinator as needed.
  • Ensures teamwork and collaboration with all partnering entities.
  • Prepares an annual report for The Salvation Army, TSA Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center Advisory Board, and the community.
  • Works closely with the Director of Development in coordinating marketing and public relation efforts.
  • Meets regularly with Chief Accountant and Kroc Administrator to participate in setting priorities and recommendations for repairs, remodeling, and replacement of facility equipment.
  • Works in a cooperative manner with other on-site directors of Kroc programs as well as other offsite TSA Department Heads/managers; discussing and resolving any problems that may be occurring within the facilities in programs they operate.
  • Become a highly visible community leader; promoting TSA Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center mission, services, and programs.
