About The Position
AHF Products has a job opportunity for a Knot Sawyer on Third Shift to be located in West Plains, Missouri. The Knot Sawyer operates single blade circular saws to cut wood lumber to specified lengths.
Requirements
- Flexible and willing to lean multiple roles within the production process.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures.
- Ability to reach work instructions and labels.
- Efficient communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently or as a team and follow instructions.
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Pulls 6’ to 16’ strips of rough lumber across saw from supply table.
- Places material to be cut on saw feed table and positions work piece against back stop, synchronizing action with foot pedal-controlled ascending blade and cuts wood, while maintaining production pace.
- Examines material prior to cutting to determine what cuts will remove defects and produce maximum usable footage.
- Places usable cutoff pieces onto feed table to side matcher and defective pieces into waste conveyor belt.
- Replaces dull or damaged saw blades and lubricates machine.
- Perform any other duties assigned.
