About The Position

The Kitting Operator is responsible for planning and executing daily and weekly workloads in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role involves creating and printing work order travelers, accurately completing work orders in the operating system, and auditing coworkers' system transactions. The operator will also be responsible for printing labels, assembling pre-formed boxes, and creating packages with the correct items for kitting, including handrails, spindles, installation directions, templates, and screws. Additionally, the position contributes to a safe and compliant work environment by adhering to health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements. The role may also involve additional duties as assigned by supervision.

Requirements

  • Must be self-directed and motivated
  • Able to multi-task in fast-paced, warehouse environment
  • Attention to detail, essential
  • Work schedule flexibility, with or without notice, to accommodate the needs of the business
  • One to three years’ experience in a similar position
  • Ability to work in an environment that can become cold/ hot (temperature) depending on the weather.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to occasionally walk; sit; use hands to hold, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear.
  • Must individually lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., occasionally, infrequently.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Mobility to cover expansive facility is required.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - per safety guidelines

Nice To Haves

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Preferred
  • Forklift certification preferred (sit down and stand up)
  • Material handling experience

Responsibilities

  • Planning the workload for the day/week through assigned reporting and direction from leadership
  • Create or print work order travelers based on the schedule
  • Complete the work orders through the operating system with a 100% accuracy goal
  • Audit coworkers’ system transactions
  • Print labels for designated product being created
  • Contributes to accident-free operations and compliance to all health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements
  • Assembles pre-formed boxes
  • Creates packages containing correct number of items for kitting packages, including handrails, spindles, printed installation directions, templates and building screws
  • Labels completed boxes
  • Bands and covers completed boxes
  • Performs additional duties as needed and/or assigned by supervision/management
