Apply now to learn more about GFS Chemicals. Let’s see if we have “Chemistry"! We are currently seeking a Kitting Associate Trainee to join our GFS Chemicals Family at our Kaderly Drive location. The incumbents will safely and efficiently pick and pack chemicals shipments and repack bulk material into smaller quantities for production orders. Prepare leaching solutions/mixtures according to a “prep” for bottling and prepare bottles for production use. They will ensure the finished goods material is passed by Quality Control before being repacked, and that bottles are passed by quality before being issued for production. Repackaged quantities will be entered into the ERP system once work is complete.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or an equivalent is required
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role is preferred
  • Respect for the chemicals they will be working with
  • Ability to function in a team environment or working independently
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Safety conscience
  • Detail-oriented and punctual
  • Good housekeeping skills
  • Adaptive learner, good retention
  • Ability to read weights and measures
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Proficient reading and writing skills
  • Knowledge of hazard handling and waste disposal

Responsibilities

  • Accurately read and interpret work orders, picking lists, or other instructions to determine the components or items required for each kit.
  • Retrieve components or items from designated storage areas, ensuring proper quantity and quality.
  • Verify the accuracy of picked items by comparing them to the work order or picking list.
  • Package and assemble kits according to set standards, following established procedures and guidelines.
  • Label and mark packages or kits with appropriate identification information.
  • Maintain accurate records of kit assembly, including tracking quantities, components, and any adjustments made.
  • Perform routine inventory checks and report any discrepancies or shortages to the supervisor.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of orders.
  • Communicate any issues or delays in the kitting process to the supervisor or appropriate team members.
