About The Position

This is a substitute kitchen worker position for New Buffalo Area Schools, available on an as-needed basis when the kitchen is short-staffed. The role involves serving students and staff nutritious and attractive meals in an efficient, clean, and warm atmosphere, contributing to the school district's mission and vision. The schedule runs from September 2026 to June 2027, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm. Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Serv Safe Certification (provided)
• Serv Safe Allergen Certification (provided)
• Excellent work ethic: punctual, self-starter, team player
• Ability to work with children, teens and young adults
• Lift, carry, push, or pull moderately heavy objects (at times up to 50 lbs)
• Standing or walking for extended periods of time.
• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate kitchen equipment.
• Carrying, pushing or pulling food trays, carts, material and supplies.
• Reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally.
• Bending at the waist
